FOOD AND DELICACIES
         Food defines a people and this holds true in Mandaue. The local cuisine tells the Mandauehanon’s passion for life and creativity. From bibingka (rice cakes) to masareal (ground sugared peanuts), and from tagaktak (fried ground rice) to budbud (sticky rice wrapped in banana leaves), these delectable home-made concoctions sit well with visitors. You will crave for these delicacies’ unique taste found only in Mandaue City. They are excellent souvenirs to take home too!

Ø The National Shrine of Saint Joseph is a Roman Catholic Church located in Mandaue in Cebu, Philippines.

  FESTIVALS

      Mandaue Fiesta: Celebrated on May 8 in honor of the patron St. Joseph. There are many events that occur in this feast like the inter-barangay sports competition, Queen Prince and Princess coronation, rodeos, street festival, bailes, fairs and many more.
      Panagtagbo(Gathering of the Holy Family): The Holy Family is coincidentally composed of the patrons of Cebu which are Santo Niño, Birhen sa Guadelupe, and Saint Joseph in Mandaue City. This is celebrated every January when the three statues meet in the national shrine of Saint Joseph often called the Translacion where a fluvial procession follows. There are singing and dancing competitions and street dancing that happen during the Bibingkahan in honor of the Sto. Niño.
      Kabayo Festival: The Kabayo (Horse) festival also known as Governor's Cup is a horse racing and different equestrian sports with the western way of riding event held annually in the second week of February.[
      Pasigarbo sa Sugbo: It is an event that is held annually in Mandaue City, Cebu International Convention Center every August 13 which shows Cebu's culture and different festivals, it is a fiesta of colorful costumes and elaborate props as dancers from 42 towns and cities from all over Cebu compete which ends with a fireworks display.
